Entrepreneurship Development and Start Up Centre (EDSUC)

Entrepreneurship Development and Start Up Centre (EDSUC) is a non-profit student’s organization dedicated for promoting and building the spirit of entrepreneurship among students coming throughout Maharashtra. It is established in 2018 under the aegis of Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development cell of “Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari (khurd)”. The geographical location of the Institute i.e. rural place lacks the local employment opportunities because of underdeveloped industrial sector. This compiles force the employable graduates to migrate to the urban area for hunting the job opportunities and increasing the burden/pressure on the facilities. The ultimate solution to reduce the burden is to provide the opportunities by developing their skill and transforming them self employable and job creators.

To create environment of entrepreneurship and start their own enterprise in future.

Mission
To foster the entrepreneurship skill of students, nurture and help them to accelerate towards success by facilitating business support systems, community and industrial exposure, infrastructural/financial support information and expert mentoring to the selected start-ups.

The basic aim of “Entrepreneurship Development and Start Up Centre (EDSUC)”, is to encourage college level students today to start their own enterprise in future by:
  • Organizing lectures, expert talks and workshops periodically to create awareness about entrepreneurship.
  • Functioning as a guide for students with creative ideas which may lead towards to transform into successful company/ business.
  • Organizing the interaction meet and industrial visit to the company of successful entrepreneurs.
  • Identifying entrepreneurial traits in the students and building their capacity for entrepreneurship.
  • Encouraging technology start-up on the campus.
  • Cultivate the culture of innovation, applied research, development and entrepreneurship.
  • Providing Mentorship through individuals for students launching their start-ups.
  • To create awareness of various government schemes.
  • MoU with outside entrepreneurship cells of different organizations like e-Cell IITB, COEP etc.

Entrepreneurship Development and Start Up Centre (EDSUC) Committee


Prominent entrepreneurship activities conducted under the “EDSUC” are listed below:
1. One day workshop on “Women Empowerment through Entrepreneurship Development and Social Awareness”, sponsored by “Maharashtra State Commission for Women” Mumbai, on 11th September 2018.
2. Three days’ workshop on “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp”, under the DST-NIMAT-2018-19 Programme, sponsored by “Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII)”, Ahmadabad, Gujarat, during 04th-06th October 2018.
3. Interaction meet of EDSUC students member with Prominent Alumni Mr. Tejas Narwade, Mr. Rahul Nehere and Mr. Manoj Bhojane regarding Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Start Up on Monday 15th July 2019. The prominent Alumni Mr. Tejas Narwade, and Mr. Rahul Nehere from Volks-Wagon Chakan and Mr. Manoj Bhojane, MD Gurukul Academy, Manchar guided the students on various aspects.
4. Industrial Visit to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Kothrud and Chakan Campus in association with Automobile Engineering Department, GCOEARA, on 12th October 2019.

5. One day workshop on “Digital Literacy Programme”, for girls’ students sponsored by “Maharashtra State Commission for Women”, Mumbai, on Friday 10th January 2020. Mrs. Archna Dahiwal Guided the students on various aspects of digital Literacy and 225 girl students participated in the programme.
6. Three days’ workshop on “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp”, under the DST-NIMAT-2019-20, Programme, sponsored by “Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII)”, Gandhinagar”, during 13th-15th February 2020 and 136 students participated in the programme. Mr. Suresh Umap, and Mr. Madankumar. D. Shelke MCED Pune, Mr. Vaijnath Kulkarni, Mr. Hemant Bhagwat, Pune, Mr. Abhijit Dere Khed and Mr. Milind Londhe, Pune guided the students.
7. Industrial Visit to Ms. Suyog Milk and Agri Products Pvt. Ltd, Nirgudsar, Tal-Ambegaon, Dist- Pune, Pin-412406 on 14/02/2020 and 136 students participated for the visit.
8. One day online webinar on “Opportunities and Challenges in Cyber Crime: Women Empowerment through Precautions and Strategies”, sponsored by “National Commission for Women” New Delhi, Tuesday 15th December 2020 and 203 girls students participated in the webinar guided by Dr. Sachin N Deshmukh, Mr. Vikas Naik, Mr. Saiprasad Kulkarni, Adv. Rajeshwari Balajiwale and Mrs. Archana Dahiwal guided the participant students.
9. One week AICTE-ISTE Induction / Refresher Programme (Online mode) on “Scope of IOT and its applications in Automotive and Agricultural Industry”, (Phase-I), Sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Indian Society For Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, in association with Department of Automobile Engineering, during 22nd To 27th February 2021. Total 50 participants were successfully attended this programme.
10. One week AICTE-ISTE Induction / Refresher Programme (Online mode) on “Scope of IOT and its applications in Automotive and Agricultural Industry”, (Phase-II), Sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Indian Society For Technical Education (ISTE) New Delhi, in association with Department of Automobile Engineering, during 22nd To 27th March 2021. Total 85 participants were successfully attended this programme. Total 79 participants were successfully attended this programme.
11. One week AICTE-ISTE Induction / Refresher Programme (Online mode) on “Scope of IOT and its applications in Automotive and Agricultural Industry”, (Phase-III), Sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Indian Society For Technical Education (ISTE) New Delhi, in association with Department of Automobile Engineering, during 03rd To 08th May 2021. Total 85 participants were successfully attended this programme.
12. One day Seminar on “Identification of Abusive Relationships and Prevention of Domestic Violence” sponsored by “National Commission for Women” New Delhi, on Tuesday 08th March 2022 and 250 participants were present. During this occasion Dr. D. V. Jadhav, Ms. Poorva Walse Patil, Dr. D.R. Nandanwar, Dr. D.R. Pangavhane, Adv. (Smt.) Sadhana Bajare, Dr. (Smt.) Anuradha Harkare, Adv. Rajeshwari Balajiwale, Adv. (Smt.) Nisha Shivurkar, Smt. Gargi Kale and Smt. Prachi Dudhane shared their views.
Future Upcoming “EDSUC”, Entrepreneurship Activities :
1. Online Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Patents and Design Filing under National IP Awareness Mission (NIPAM) in association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM), Government of India, Nagpur Under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission. The tentative scheduled date of this Workshop is First Week of May 2022.

2. Industrial Visit to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Kothrud and Chakan Campus in association with Automobile Engineering Department, GCOEARA, The tentative scheduled date of this visit is in the month of May 2022.
